A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
